Once you arrive at this trackside viewing lounge, you won't want to leave.

A new addition to the SkyCity Boxing Day Races, you’ll never miss a moment of the day’s racing with floor-to-ceiling glass frontages bringing exceptional views of the action directly to the lounge.

A fantastic shared precinct for family or friend groups, seats are limited and this lounge will sell out.

The menu for the day has been specially designed by award-winning Executive Chef Steve Barton who relies on the bounty of seasonal Kiwi produce, often incorporating produce grown sustainably onsite.

Due to COVID-19 regulations the following conditions apply:

  • No food or beverage to be taken outside

  • Ticket holders have access to the Pakuranga Hunt precinct only.

  • There are no pass outs and ticket holders are unable to leave the hospitality area to visit other areas oncourse including, but not limited to, the stables, parade ring or birdcage areas. 

  • The space is limited to 100 guests

  • Raceday attendees are required to wear face masks at all times except when seated and eating or drinking. This requirement is in addition to the COVID Protection Framework and designed to keep our staff safe. Please do not be offended if you are asked to wear one. Attendees who do not comply may be asked to leave.

  • Racecourse gates open at 10.30am* – this hospitality option opens at 11.30am

  • This room is not wheelchair accessible, toilets and entrance to room are from Level 1 of the Ellerslie stand in the 'Red' level setting.

** Children under the age of 12 years and three months, as well as those who present a valid "medical exemption from [the approved COVID-19] vaccine(s)" as issued by New Zealand's Ministry of Health in conjunction with a matching and legal and valid form of photographic identification, are not required to show a valid My Vaccine Pass in order to obtain entry into our site(s).

Other information ​​

  • On-site, overnight parking is free however we strongly encourage guests leave cars at home.  Ellerslie Racecourse is located close to public transport networks including the Greenlane Train Station which is a 600m walk away

  • dress code is in place in all hospitality areas including Pakuranga Hunt. While we hate turning people away, the dress code will be enforced as required and entry will be refused if it is not adhered to. Please ensure anyone you are purchasing tickets for is aware of this

  • Tickets are non-refundable and include a 2.5% transaction fee.  A separate booking fee of $1.50 per ticket also applies upon purchase

  • We encourage responsible drinking. Intoxicated persons will not be granted entry into Ellerslie Racecourse and will be removed from the grounds

  • We are a fully-licensed venue and BYO alcohol is not permitted

  • Promotional photographs, social media content & film footage will be taken at this event. By entering the racecourse, event-goers consent to use of their image by the Club & New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing for promotional purposes

  • Ellerslie Racecourse will be operating as a “vaccination required venue” while Auckland operates under the COVID-19 Protection Framework ("traffic light" system), or similar.
