COVID-19 Update

The Auckland region is currently sitting under the “Red” setting within the Government’s COVID-19 Protection Framework. With no date set for when the region may move to ‘Orange’, we have made the decision to restrict entry to Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Day.

As a result, changes or cancellations have been applied to hospitality precincts and / or ticketing options in order to ensure the event can be safely conducted under the requirements of events at “Red”. If you have already purchased tickets, you will have been contacted by our hospitality team in regards to your options.

Learn more about the changes to the day here and more information about how Silks may be impacted can be found below.

Once you arrive at this prime trackside viewing lounge, you won't want to leave.

An odds-on raceday favourite, you’ll never miss a moment of the day’s entertainment with floor-to-ceiling glass frontages bringing exceptional views of the action directly to your table.

A fantastic shared precinct for family or friend groups, seats are limited and this lounge will sell out.

And if you’re looking for a little more detail, you can simply revert to your table’s flat screen TV to watch the racing up close.

The menu for the day has been specially designed by award-winning Executive Chef Steve Barton who relies on the bounty of seasonal Kiwi produce, often incorporating produce grown sustainably onsite.

Package includes:
  • Delicious served buffet lunch designed by award-winning chefs and prepared using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with dessert and cheeseboard to complement

  • A flute of Moët Champagne, served at your table on arrival

  • Pre-allocated, reserved seat (tables of 8) in the comfort of an air-conditioned room with uninterrupted views of the racecourse

  • A flat screen TV at your table screening the day's racing, racebook

  • Table service for beverage purchases featuring Champagne, selected standard & premium still & sparkling wines, light & standard local & imported beers, cider, spirits & non-alcoholic beverages

  • Ability to enjoy the fresh air with access to covered outdoor grandstand seating reserved for Silks.

Due to COVID-19 regulations the following conditions apply:

  • No food or beverage to be taken outside and all food and beverage must be consumed while seated

  • Ticket holders have access to the Silks precinct only

  • There are no pass outs and ticket holders are unable to leave the hospitality area to visit other areas oncourse including, but not limited to, the stables, parade ring or birdcage areas.
