Iconic to Auckland’s social calendar, the Boxing Day Races offer a winning trifecta of fashion, entertainment and some of the best thoroughbred racing on offer.
The Paddock is back! A party-precinct festival for those seeking a day out under the summer sun with mates, live music, pop-up food & more.

New Year's Day Races

The event that’s all about the roar of the crowd & the athletes doing battle before them.
Dust off the night before and start the New Year with a bang at the institution that is the New Year’s Day Races, featuring some of the best horse races this country has to offer.

You're able to bring your own picnic food & unopened, non-alcoholic beverages into outdoor public areas on course & can purchase alcoholic beverages from bars on site. There are a number of food outlets on site too

Attending the races offers the perfect opportunity to dress to impress! While we hate turning people away, a dress code applies to most hospitality precincts, plus the Ascot Stand, and it will be enforced as required

Intoxicated persons will not be granted entry into Ellerslie Racecourse

We strongly encourage you to taxi to the track and leave your car at home. Don’t drink and drive, use our preferred taxi supplier Auckland Co-op Taxi who will drop off / pick up at the main entrance. Ring 09 300 3000 to book
