The Rising Foundation Raceday

This raceday has been transferred to Matamata Racecourse where it will be run by Matamata Racing Club

This shift means the event that had been scheduled to take place here at Ellerslie Racecourse on that date has been cancelled.

This decision was made by NZTR and was in keeping with current Government regulations around the COVID-19 pandemic and its implications on border restrictions.

Unfortunately, holding a race meeting in Auckland while its border is restricted is not feasible given the number and variety of industry participants who reside outside the region and who play a big part in our racedays.

Our hospitality team is currently in the process of contacting the event’s primary ticket purchasers with regards to refunds.

Deck the halls with boughs of bubbles... Christmas party season has finally arrived and we're here for it.

Christmas parties at the races combine the best an end-of-year party has to offer – food, wine, summer, the social scene, sport and entertainment.

Kicking off at around midday, you've got the choice of enjoying the festivities in your choice of shared or private precinct with a package to suit any taste, style or budget.

There’s nothing quite like it.

Free general admission

Event Schedule*

11.15am - Racecourse gates open

12.15pm - First race

The racing

So far we have eight races scheduled for the day, headed up by the Group III Mitchell Family Bonecrusher Stakes.

If you're bringing the younger family members, we've got their day sorted.

Free general admission gets you access to our bouncy castle and swingball sets on our public lawn, plus you can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in outdoor areas (no BYO sorry!).
