We spoke to jockeys competing in the Trevor Eagle Memorial 3YO to get their comments on how the race went.
1st: Two Illicit Vinnie Colgan
From the one gate, she jumped well and travelled lovely three back on the fence. Having a hood on made a big difference was never off the bridle and when the splits came she sprinted well. Good finish.
2nd: Dragon Leap Craig Grylls
Had a lovely trip. Felt like he was going to win quite easily but without warning he's just run out so he's cost himself.
3=: Ranger Shaun McKay
Super run. The horse is still green and still learning so he'll improve with the run.
3=: Tears Of Jupiter Sam Collett
Nice brave run. She'll want a bit further now.
5th: Grand De Flora Ryan Elliot
Had to go back from the draw and get going at the 600m and she has hit the line well.
6th: Blackrocksdetox Jason Waddell
For a maidener he has gone okay. Push on to the Waikato Guineas.
7th Annie's Song Sam Weatherley
Run very well. Tough run from the draw. Still does a lot wrong.
8th: Tappy's One Sam Spratt
A bit of a step up in class. When he drops back in class over a mile. Good run.
9th: Kaareraway Trudy Thornton
Nice filly. She's a little weak. She'll make the grade as a stayer later on.
10th: Green Bravo Andrew Calder
Blinkers today did spark him up. He travelled a bit better in the run. He may benefit from a break.
11th: Celestial Nymph Michael Coleman
Grinding run. Be better over ground later on.
12th: Mongolian Heaven Jonathan Riddell
Flat footed at the start and shut out a bit. I wanted to be handier. He's looking for 2000 metres.
Last: Tabata Danielle Johnson
She probably wants to go out for a spell.
