FEATURE RACE PREVIEW Race 9, 5.04pm | Vodafone New Zealand Derby | 3YO SW | 2400m | $1,000,000
This year’s Vodafone New Zealand Derby is an even line up with many chances. I saw enough from Jason Belltree in the AJC Avondale Guineas to put him on top. Leading into that race, the concern was his ability to stay 2400 metres. Given he went to the front at halfway, was taken on and was coming back on the line, I think the 2400 metes will not be a problem. We all know he has the class, so on top for me. The dangers include the Legacy Lodge Waikato Guineas winner, Tokorangi, and the AJC Avondale Guineas winner, Rocket Spade.
