Feature race preview

Race 7 | ARC Thanks ‘The King’ – Michael Coleman 1600

As the race name suggests, the Auckland Racing Club is honouring the career of recently retired jockey, Michael Coleman. Michael had considerable success at Ellerslie including winning the New Zealand Derby on two occasions with Cut The Cake in 2003 and with the incomparable Xcellent in 2004.

Since arriving in New Zealand, Cheval Prometteur, has been a revelation winning two of his three starts and running second in the other. From a handy draw, and with Sam Spratt in the saddle, he will race on the speed. He looks terribly hard to beat.

Other chances include London Banker and Iron Eagle
