Need an insider tip? Keen to know how the track is shaping up?
Here's your preview to our upcoming raceday complete with Craig Baker's thoughts on the day's feature races, speed maps, track manager Jason Fulford's report and some tips from our sponsorship manager, Bill Heap.
The track as at this afternoon (Thursday) was a Dead 6 with showers forecast for the rest of the day.
It's likely the track will be a Slow 7 tomorrow morning (Friday) and, if we don't get too much rain, possibly a Dead 6 on Saturday.
If you would like to see the the track video, it'll be on Love Racing's YouTube channel here from tomorrow (Friday 2 April).
Feature race preview
Race 7 | 4.13pm | Race Images 1500 | Open Handicap | $32,500
No feature race as such on the programme, but let’s look at this race...
Last start Ellerslie winner, Markus Aurelius, on top for me. The Jamie Richards-trained gelding was very impressive winning on a Slow track on Vodafone Derby Day and, while he goes up in grade, he goes down in weight.
In addition, he has the services of Joe Kamaruddin who will take 3kg off.
He is well-placed and looks very hard to beat as long as he can get into a good position from a slightly sticky draw.
