We spoke to jockeys competing in the Shaw's Wires Ropes Uncle Remus Stakes to get their comments on how the race went.
1st: Travelling Light Jason Waddell
Courageous filly. She's top class and she showed it again today. She got a nice run although we hit the front a bit too soon. She was very brave.
2nd: Harlech Mick Dee
He's a very good horse. The winner had a better run than what we had. We were drawn a bit wide and ideally with with some give in the ground. He's a very smart horse.
3rd: Hasstobegood Craig Grylls
Very happy with the run. He was a little keen when they eased he pace and was left a little flat footed when they sprinted but he found the line very strong.
4th: Bella Mente James McDonald
She'll be better winding into the race.
5th: Double Impact Troy Harris
Good run. Just peaked half-way down. Fresh-up over 1400 metres, he'll improve a tonne after that.
6th: My World Micahel McNab
He ran super. Stepping up to good comapny . In the autumn, should be a nice horse.
7th: Avadane Leith Innes
An ok run.
8th: Sonofabutcher Vinnie Colgan
Will be a nice horse when he comes back from a spell.
9th: Folk Dress Danielle Johnson
Travelled into the race around the corner, got a slight check in the straight and run her race by then.
10th: Might Sam Spratt
A little disappointing. He jumped well and put himself there easy and cruised along but never finished it off.
Last: Shenanigans Ryan Elliot
Jumped back in distance, probably a little sharp for her.
