Melbourne Cup Raceday: Jockey comments from beaten favourites

After each race, we spoke to jockeys of beaten favourites to hear their thoughts.

Race One: CARLTON EVENTS 2200

Star Karen Leith Innes

Good effort. Needed one more race under her belt.

Race Two: CHEVALIER PRODUCE 1600

Ranger Andrew Calder

He over-raced with no tempo in the race, but he ran on well in the straight.

Race Three: AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 2400

Vainglory Michael Coleman

Good run. Didn't quiken on top of the ground but courageous run.

Race Four: AGROWQUIP JOHN DEERE 1200

Kylie Bax Opie Bosson

Good run but probably the track was a bit too firm for her.

Race Five: POWERSAFE ELECTRICAL WHOLESALERS 1200

Cyber Attack Vinnie Colgan

Track was a bit too firm for him. He didn't feel right.

Race Six: CARBINE CLUB TROPHY

Aim Smart Opie Bosson

Missed the start a bit, so was on the back foot early. Finished well.

Race Seven: OMF Stakes

Concert Hall Matt Cameron

Hit a bit of a flat spot across the top and had a bit to do, but her best work was late.

Race Eight: HALO CONSULTING 1600

Cutadeel Michael Coleman

Needs some cut in the ground. Six weeks between runs, so it was a good run.

Race Nine: CORPORATE SCAFFOLDING 1400

Rendition Rosie Myers

She's gone super. Missed the start. Just got back and ran home really well.

Race Ten: BARFOOT & THOMPSON 1600

Swords Drawn Opie Bosson

Good run. Wound up well in the straight and just beaten.
