Jockey Comments | Karaka Million 3YO Classic

Here are comments from the jockeys in the Karaka Million 3YO Classic that was run here at Ellerslie as part of the New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Million.

1st - Aegon - Leith Innes - He's a good good horse. I thought we were in trouble at the 200m but the turn of foot he showed and the class of filly he beat says it all. He tried so hard and the last 50m he just got his head down lower and lower. He's a proper Group 1 horse and Andrew (Forsman) and Murray (Baker) have done such a great job with him.

2nd - Amarelinha -Danielle Johnson - She went so well. She's such a lovely horse. I thought we had Aegon covered but he was just too good for me.

3rd - Montre Moi - Lisa Allpress - A massive run, I'm so excited, he went really well.

4th - On Display - Sam Collett - It was a real brave run for fourth. Had a bit of a wide run but had a bit of cover. Everything went a bit pear shaped with the riderless horse but he was very brave.

5th -Perfect Scenario - Vinnie Colgan - A super run. Probably a little bit out of his class but he fought well.

6th - Dragon Queen - Taiki Yanagida - She settled well and did everything perfect but the other ones just a bit too smart.

7th - Lord Ardmore - Sam Spratt - A really good effort. Got a fair way back from his wide gate but he settled and ran home really nicely.

8th - Zee Falls - Craig Grylls - Had a lovely trip, came out at the right time. Probably just battled a bit. Maybe looking for further but it was a good honest run.

9th - Screamin Eagle - Darren Danis - Still a bit green and still learning but he'll be a nice horse.

10th - Bella Button - Michael McNab - She run good. She just didn't help herself early. back to filly grade and up to 2000m she's a lovely horse.

11th - Supreme Khan - Troy Harris - Got across nice enough from the wide draw. Probably still just a bit weak.

12th - Tannahill - Wiremu Pinn - Umm yeah, got taken out by the riderless horse.

13th - Gurtlyn - Chris Johnson - Got way back early but ran on quite nice.

14th - Invisible Spirit - Sam Weatherley - He'll be a really nice horse in a years time and maybe with a bit of cut in the ground.

15th - Beaune - Trudy Thornton - She went well but probably coming back to the mile , they were a bit sharp for her but until she gets back over a trip.

Last - Edge Of Wonder - Jonathan Parkes - Just got caught a little wide throughout the trip.

Lost Rider - Waimoku Falls - Ashvin Goindasamy
