We spoke to jockeys competing in the Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes to get their comments on how the race went.
1st: Avantage Opie Bosson
Had a nice run. Was too strong in the finish. She reminds me of Melody Belle. She's following in her footsteps pretty quickly.
2nd: True Enough Matt Cameron
Super run. Just got in a pocket halfway down. Had to clear that and he did well to pick himself and chase a champ like her. Good effort.
3rd: Supera Danielle Johnson
She ran really well. When they quickened it left her a little flat-footed and Avantage was able to get a couple lengths on her. She found the line really well.
4th: Tiptronic Craig Grylls
Got a perfect trail the whole race. Traveled great, turning for home he's given a good kick but the winner was too good and he's just been swamped late by the place-getters. A good honest run.
5th: Prise De Fer Johnathan Parkes
Very good run. Got back in a slow tempo but he's run home very strongly.
6th: Rondinella Vinnie Colgan
Just when they eased up and then sprinted , it just left her flat-footed but tried hard.
7th: Rock On Wood Ryan Elliot
Had a nice run but got taken wide on the corner and put me out of the race.
8th: Justamaiz Michael Coleman
He ran a nice race, he just can't run 33 seconds for the last 600 metres like these weight-for-age horses.
9th: Gino Severino Leith Innes
Had a nice lead but didn't run on. Probably feeling the track a little.
Last: On The Rocks James Winks
Pulled up down the straight.
