As announced on 20 April 2020, from today (28 April 2020), New Zealand is at COVID-19 Alert Level 3.
At Level 3, the Government has advised New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing (NZTR) that on-site work is permitted for training and racing of Thoroughbreds, provided that all employers have a COVID-19 control plan in place, with appropriate health and safety and physical distancing measures for both staff and contractors.
Protocols will be enforced by the Government through its various agencies including the Police, Worksafe and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI).
