Don’t spend another Boxing Day stuck in the backyard. Make a day of it and pack your sunblock and the kids, and head to the Infield Family Zone at our SkyCity Boxing Day Races.
If previous Boxing Day weather is anything to go by, it’ll be a scorcher, so you’ll want to set up camp for a comfortable day in the sun – go right ahead and pack sun umbrellas, picnic rugs, chairs and even a gazebo if you fancy.
Parking is free. But remember, you will have to carry your ‘camping gear’ for the day and you can’t reserve a patch of grass, so we recommend arriving early; it’s first-in-best-served when it comes to a campsite.
You’ll be set up right up to the track railing, so our Infield Family Zone is a fantastic place to watch all the raceday action up close.
Plus, there’s no dress code, so make yourself at home: jandals, shorts and tee-shirts are welcome here!
If you’ve got lots of leftovers from Christmas Day, feel free to bring a picnic. There will be a BBQ that you can use (for free), as well as food trucks if you’d rather relax than prepare food.
There is no BYO allowed, but you’re welcome to bring unopened, non-alcoholic beverages and if you feel like celebrating the day with a beer, wine or bubbles, there will be bars in the area.
Children under 15 get in free and the little ones will have a blast with FREE entertainment.
Let us do the entertaining between races with free pony rides, a mobile barnyard and games / activities for children including swing ball sets and a bouncy castle.
Grab your tickets early and pay less. Right now you'll pay just $10 adult (remember, under 15s free) or $20pp on the day.

Please note: If you have an Infield Family Zone ticket, you can only be in this area throughout the day. If you have any other raceday ticket you can go into this area AND all general admission areas on course, including watching (or participating in) the fashion competition, patting some more horses, entering our Pick the Winner competition (where you could win a trip to Queenstown thanks to Roaring Meg), going to see the horses in the stables, watching our bugler and more.
Can't make it to the SkyCity Boxing Day Races? We're racing again on New Year's Day with the same activities on offer for children in our general admission areas (under 15s go free).
