After each race, we spoke to jockeys of beaten favourites to hear their thoughts.

Race One: COCA-COLA HURDLE
El Fernando Shaun Phelan
Ran a good race. The heavy track beat him. He's better on top of the ground.
Race Two: NZB INSURANCE PEARL SERIES RACE
Shoshone Cameron Lammas
Won
Race Three: BARFOOT & THOMPSON 1200
Blood Warrior Vinnie Colgan
Won
Race Four: KS BROWNE HURDLE
Duffers Creek Shaun Fannin
Travelled well throughout. The mistake at the second last cost him running top two.
Race Five: CELEBRATING GLORY DAYS AVONDALE & AUCKLAND CUP VICTORIES 2200
Wicklow Scott Wenn
Didn't intentionally want to lead but travelled really nicely but didn't run too correctly in the home straight being first time right handed.
Race Six: DUNSTAN FEEDS STEEPLECHASE
Suffice To Say Aaron Kuru
Won
Race Seven: MCGREGOR GRANT STEEPLECHASE
He went a good race. I just think the hill got him the last time and struggled but it was a good run from him. He'll push on for Hawke's Bay or Manawatu.
Race Eight: FACEUP – LOW FEES IN REAL ESTATE 2200
Sweet Treat Ryan Elliot
Travelled good, got there a bit early and the sticky track has got to her. Needs rain on the day.
Race Nine: ARC THANKS THEIR PARTNERS & FRIENDS FOR THE PAST SEASON 1600
Paisley Park Sam Collett
Super run. His raciing manners were a lot better today. If this race was run on Saturday with the track being more loose would of helped him more. The winner was tough and he's run his best he could.
