We spoke to jockeys competing in the Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes to get their comments on how the race went.
1st: Melody Belle Opie Bosson
She's just a tough little mare. When there's a dogfight she really stuck her head out at the line.
2nd: Danzdanzdance Craig Grylls
She traveled really good. Almost a little too good. She ran up to the winner put her head in front and to the winners credit she kicked back. Really brave effort by my mare.
3rd: Rondinella Vinnie Colgan
Really good run. She was struggling with the track conditions but got out wide and she got home well.
4th: Authentic Paddy Robbie Hannam
A good honest fourth. I put him to the sword turning for home and he's stuck on really well.
5th: Vin De Dance Matt Cameron
Wasn't a bad run just plugged a bit in the ground. He whacked away.
6th: Saint Emilion Jonathan Riddell
Horse was feeling good but track was not ideal.
7th: On The Rocks Jake Bayliss
Hopeless in the wet.
8th: Shadow Cast Johnathan Parkes
He was just tripped up a little on the track and first time over 2000 meters did't suit him with the rain.
9th: Elusive Treasure Darren Danis
Track was a bit too heavy for him.
Last: Farm Boy Michael McNab
Was never in the race.
