We spoke to jockeys competing in the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup to get their comments on how the race went.
1st: Glory Days Sam Collett
Settled a fair way off them for the majority of the race. She towed me into the race and really did it herself. Unreal.
2nd: Five To Midnight Johnathan Parkes
Had a good trip. Game run for second.
3rd: Blue Breeze Chris Dell
He's a game little horse. Three wide the trip but it wasn't bad on the conditions. Top of the straight I thought I was the winner but beaten by a better horse.
4th: Dee And Gee Sam Spratt
Super run. Bold along in front and pulled a bit down the back but stuck on well.
5th: Vengeur Masque Opie Bosson
He ran a good race. He's done it a bit hard but he battled on.
6th: Gundown Matt Cameron
Really good run. He's probably a year away but he's shown he's up with the big boys so he'll be there next time.
7th: Charles Road Craig Grylls
A touch disappointing. He traveled pretty good but we were down in the worst of it and couldn't get out. Turning in he was traveling good, saved some ground but when I let his head go, he was struggling.
8th: Verry Flash Rowena Smyth
He's traveled up really well but hasn't finished it off first time over ground.
9th: Kamada Lincoln Cameron Lammas
He's a pulled a bit early and din't see the distance out.
10th: Rock On Robbie Hannam
Handled the track but probably didn't see out the two miles. Nice.
11th: Duplicity Ryan Elliot
Beautiful run in transit but hasn't stayed.
12th: Peso Rosie Myers
A bit of a disappointing run. He travelled beautifully but didn't quite let down today.
13th: Delegate Michael McNab
Didn't stay.
14th: Prince Jabeel Leith Innes
He's had a hard campaign and the track tripped him up today.
15th: August Edition Darren Danis
Didn't see out the distance.
Last: The Rebel Knight Trudy Thornton
Doesn't stay.
