Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup Day: Jockey comments from beaten favourites

After each race, we spoke to jockeys of beaten favourites to hear their thoughts.

Race 1: WHITE CLIFFS TIMBER 1200

Spindle Cameron Lammas

Won

Race 2: ROYAL DESCENT STAKES

Podravina Johnathan Parkes

Good run. I thought she stuck on pretty well.

Race 3: STELLA ARTOIS 1600

Bethany Matt Cameron

She wasn't suited with the track conditions at all. Better suited on a better track.

Race 4: PGG WRIGHTSON /VETMED 1400

Jip Jip Rock Michael McNab

If she drew a better gate she would have probably won.

Race 5: FASTTRACK INSURANCE 1600

Tightlign Matt Cameron

The track tripped him up. I haven't knocked him around so next time he'll be fine.

Race 6: LASER TE PUKE 1200

Pretty To Sea Leith Innes

Won

Race 7: SISTEMA STAKES

Yourdeel Opie Bosson

Won

Race 8: BONECRUSHER NEW ZEALAND STAKES

Melody Belle Opie Bosson

Won

Race 9: BARFOOT & THOMPSON AUCKLAND CUP

Charles Road Craig Grylls

A touch disappointing. He traveled pretty good but we were down in the worst of it and couldn't get out. Turning in he was traveling good, saved some ground but when I let his head go, he was struggling.

Race 10: BARFOOT & THOMPSON 2100

Lord Arthur Jonathan Riddell

Good run but I couldn't get out. Promising three-year-old.
