After each race, we spoke to jockeys of beaten favourites to hear their thoughts.
Race 1 : THE POND PREMIUM RECRUITMENT 1200
One Bakerstreet Ryan Elliot
She had to do too much work early with the runner outside taking her on. She just burnt out last 100 metres.
Race 2: BARFOOT & THOMPSON 1400
Sahar Matt Cameron
A good run. Just struggled to get round these turns. A horse that may race best the other way round.
Race 3: GRAEME THOMSON ANTIQUE AND ESTATE JEWELLERY 1600
Nordic Matt Cameron
Wasn't a bad run. He's just a bit green and probably stepped up a grade a bit too soon for him.
Race 4: GO RACING SYNDICATIONS 1500
Paisley Park Sam Collett
Really happy with him. He's hit the line well. From moderate speed early, he wanted to do a few things wrong but any cut in the track will be right up his alley.
Race 5: HEADQUARTERS VIADUCT NATHANS MEMORIAL
Sacred Day Rosie Myers
Travelled a little keenly. He didn;t let down as well as I though he would today.
Race 6: MCKEE FAMILY SUNLINE VASE
Savy Yong Blonk Opie Bosson
Pretty good run. She got shunted on the home turn that lost her momentum but she hit the line well.
Race 7: MUFHASA FASTTRACK STAKES
Queen Of The Air Glen Boss
Sub-standard effort.
Race 8: WAIKATO STUD PLATE
Ferrando Matt Cameron
Disappointing effort. He's a better left handed with not so much pressure. He stuck on ok.
Race 9: VODAFONE NZ DERBY
Surely Sacred Vinnie Colgan
A funny run race. Got stuck in behind them and they kept going round. Top run.
Race 10: VERTICAL LOGISTICS 2100
Special Light Sam Collett
