One of our raceday style ambassadors, Hannah Marinkovich, always looks flawless... so we asked her to share a couple of her secrets for event prep in the lead up to Auckland Cup Week.
Auckland Cup Week is nearly upon us and I am so excited!!
If you’re heading along, chances are that you’re wanting to look and feel your best, so here are some of my favourite beauty tips to prepare for an event.
Prepping your base. If you’re wearing makeup for an event you want your skin to be in tip top shape, as your foundation sits best on prepped skin.
A few days before the races, exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliator. This will remove build-up and debris on the surface of the skin and increase blood flow.
Once you’ve removed any dead skin cell build-up, apply a hydrating mask to plump up the skin and give it a gorgeous glow.
My picks are the Organic Nation Black Rice Scrub, RRP $60.00, and the Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask, RRP $83.00.
Hair treatments. A hair treatment during the week in the lead up to the races will not only give your hair that extra shine and tame fly-aways, it will also strengthen your hair for any heat and product that you’ll be applying to it on the day.
I love using Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector, RRP $57.00.
Nails. Getting a mani & pedi before the races isn’t just a time to relax, it’s also an opportunity to have a little fun and tie them in with your outfit. Especially if you are entering The Ned Prix de Fashion... you don’t want to ignore your nails as all the little details count.
I go to The Art of Nails as they have an endless selection of colours, and you can also get 20% off services by presenting your Ellerslie Races event ticket in seven days before the event! Win!
Spray tan. This is something I like to get for every raceday, as I feel more confident when I have a bronzed glow.
If you’re entering a fashion competition such as The Ned Prix de Fashion, again this can help you feel your best on stage.
Make sure to visit a professional to get a natural looking faux-glow. My favourites are the team at Tan in the City in Remuera - you’ll be in safe hands!
