Barfoot & Thompson 3YO Salver: Barfoot & Thompson 3YO Salver jockey comments

We spoke to jockeys competing in the Listed Barfoot & Thompson 3YO Salver on Barfoot & Thompson 3YO Salver Raceday to get their comments on how the race went.

1st Cutadeel Opie Bosson

It was a really good effort. He got caught a little wide at the first bend, but he relaxed beautifully. He's an exciting horse heading towards the Group One Vodafone New Zealand Derby.

2nd Factor Me In Shafiq Rusof

He went a nice race. The pace didn't suit him but he still run home really well.

3rd Swords Drawn Jason Waddell

Top run by him. He's probably the best maidener in the country at the moment. He'll run a Derby trip out for sure.

4th Prince Albert Michael McNab

He ran really well. He wasn't far away from the winner and probably would have won on a good track.

5th Heavenly Emperor Vinnie Colgan

He's still a bit immature at the moment. A nice run by him but he'll be better as a Autumn three-year-old.

6th Bobby Dee Jonathan Riddell

We were caught wide from a bad draw. Elected to go forward early but he stuck on well to finish sixth.

7th Let Me Tell Ya Michael Coleman

It was a nice run. Travelled like a good chance at the 300m mark but didn't quite finish it off. A bit more time she'll be right in it.

8th Masque Ryan Elliot

We were caught wide and battled away in the home straight.

9th Danelyn Samantha Collett

Unsuited to the slow tempo early but batted away okay.

10th Bayeux Sam Spratt

He's going to be a nice horse with some time. With a firmer track he'll be a better horse.

11th Rely On Me Shaun McKay

He went alright. It's his first prep and going this way round the first time, he was on and off the bit but hit the line strongly from where he was. In six months time he'll be a very nice horse.

12th Capellani Andrew Calder

Just battled away in the home straight.

13th Mighty Connor Trudy Thornton

Battling effort. The draw and the slow tempo didn't help but he'll break maidens midweek.

14th Thomas Aquinas Matthew Cameron

A little disappointing. Had to do a bit of work down the back straight when they eased the pace. He's probably not quite strong enough for 2100m at the moment.

15th Diserabull Jordan Nason

He's still learning his trade. Doesn't know what it's all about yet. Some time and over ground he'll be a nice horse.
