After each race, we spoke to jockeys of beaten favourites to hear their thoughts.
Race 1: Chevalier Produce 1600
Thomas Aquinas Lisa Allpress
He ran a nice enough race. He's a three-year-old still a bit week, so he has time on his side but he's doing everything right and he's not far away from them.
Race 2: Carlton Events 1200
Princess Kereru Cameron Lammas
She went huge, she was a bit unlucky. Gaps didn't open up for her as I wanted but she tried hard.
Race 3: NZ Chinese Jockey Club 1200
Fullinbloom Opie Bosson
Won
Race 4: Auckland Co-Op Taxis 2200
Zanyetta Michael Coleman
Ranged up to the winner at the 300m mark but didn't carry it on. Disappointing.
Race 5: John Deere Agrowquip 1600
Rhinestone Cowboy Jonathan Riddell
Won.
Race 6: OMF Stakes
Lizzie L'Amour Matthew Cameron
It was a good run, she just didn't find that turn of foot on a better track. She had to get past a few slow ones to get to where we were but hit the line well. Top run.
Race 7: Delta Insurance 1400
Save The Date Leith Innes
She went really well. She got held up a little on the inside but hit the line well.
Race 8: Carbine Club Trophy
Mongolian Marshal Matthew Cameron
Won.
Race 9: Ellerslie Jewellers & Engravers 1400
Rip Em Up Danielle Johnson
Super run from her today. I was back and trapped a bit wide but she hit the line really well. She will be a really nice Oaks filly.
Race 10: Simply Squeezed 1400
Prince Jabeel Leith Innes
Muddling run race but he hit the line really well.
