The Rising Foundation Avondale Guineas Day: Westinghouse Nathan's Memorial Jockey Comments

We spoke to jockeys competing in the Westinghouse Nathan's Memorial on The Rising Foundation Avondale Guineas Raceday to get their comments on how the race went.

1st Kaharau Sam Spratt

Really gutsy run. Not a lot of pace on so I rolled forward. Fought on really well considering he has 60kg.

2nd Ladies First Vinnie Colgan

Lovely run. Certainly peaking at the right time for the Auckland Cup

3rd Araldo Junior Jason Waddell

Super run going forward. Just peaked at the 50 metres.

4th Charles Road Jake Bayliss

They went too slow. It turned into a sprint home. He's spot on for the Auckland Cup.

5th Smedley Hairi Marzuki

Ran really well. Kicked back really well at the 200 metres

6th August Edition Rosie Myers

Went a really good race. They didn't go that hard so I went to the front. Probably doesnt get 2400 at this stage.

7th Comin'through Alysha Collett

Fantastic run. Looking for the 3200 metres next start.

8th Zacada Danielle Johnson

He went really well they just went too slow.

9th Arite Guru Jasmine Fawcett

He came to the end of his run. Just lacking a bit of fitness

10th Magic Chai Michael McNab

Raced okay but was too fresh. Missed the start and didn't cop the track.

Last High Spirits Sam Collett

Really disappointing run. Didn't cop the track
