We spoke to jockeys competing in the Electrolux Avondale Guineas on The Rising Foundation Avondale Guineas Raceday to get their comments on how the race went.
1st On The Rocks Jake Bayliss
The aim today was to get him to settle which he did. He's got a really good turn of foot and he will be a live chance in the Derby. He will stay 2400.
2nd Danzdanzdance Matt Cameron
Top run. She is spot on for the Derby
3rd Vin De Dance Jason Waddell
Top run. He's looking for 2400 metres. I produced him earlier than I had hoped but he stuck really well. Bang on for the Derby
4th Scott Base Rosie Myers
Super run. Got him to relax and ended up further back than I had hoped. Finished off really well.
5th Mission Hill Danielle Johnson
Top effort. The eventual winner rolled out in front of me and held me up for a few strides. They should be happy with the run leading into the Derby.
6th The Mayor Sam Weatherley
Huge run. Had the toughest run in the race being three wide and was not beaten far. Should be a leading chance in the Derby
7th Mongolianconqueror Michael McNab
Ran well but didn't cop the track. Still a good chance in the Derby.
8th Endowment Alysha Collett
The ground didn't suit and he went up in the barriers. All in all a good run.
9th Griffin Johnathan Parkes
A bit stiff from the 600 onwards. He didn't get many favours. Best to forget today's run.
10th Persian Empire Leith Innes
Had a nice trip. I followed the winner but not quite sure he is ready to get the trip of the Derby.
11th Eitilt Michael Walker
Probably not there mentally. Was on one rein hanging.
12th Iffraajinator Michael Coleman
Just battled away.
13th Irish Flame Vinnie Colgan
Just battled away. Put his head down in the barriers and missed the start.
14th Secret Ambition Sam Collett
Raced a little closer to the pace than normal and struggled in the ground.
Last Transformer Jonathan Ridddell
Just did too much work
