Christmas Carnival New Year's Day Races: Rich Hill Mile Jockey Comments

We spoke to jockeys competing in the Rich Hill Mile at the Christmas Carnival New Year's Day Races to get their comments on how the race went.

1st Coldplay Jonathan Parkes

It was super tough. She was headed at the top of the straight but she stuck her head out and found again. She was very deserving of this win today.

2nd Ronchi Grant Cooksley

It was a good run.

3rd Charles Road Michael McNab

He ran good. He lets himself down a bit with the way he runs around.

4th Rangipo Vinnie Colgan

It was a nice run second up. Onwards and upwards from here for him.

5th Royal Success Cameron Lammas

It was a big run. He just lugged out under pressure and cost himself a little bit.

6th Tiptronic Chris Johnson

It was a good run.

7th Von Tunzelman Leith Innes

It was a super effort. He cornered a little awkwardly but he found the line really nicely.

8th Watch This Space Sam Weatherley (a)

Super run. The weight and track conditions just made it too hard for him today. If he can get back down in the weights a little he will be very competitive.

9th Battle Time Mark Du Plessis

It was too wet for him.

10th Prince Of Passion Michael Coleman

He didn't handle the ground.

11th Ocean Emperor Regan Bayliss

He just drew the wrong gate for him the way this track is playing.

Last Yearn Trudy Thornton

She is just due for a spell.
