We spoke to jockeys competing in the OMF Stakes on OMF Melbourne Cup Raceday to get their comments on how the race went.
1st Chance To Dance Opie Boston
It was a beautiful run. He travelled nice and was too tough and too good in the end.
2nd Mime Michael Coleman
It was a good run. She just wanted to lay in the last bit which didn't help her.
3rd Authentic Paddy Jonathan Riddell
It was a great run. We got tightened a bit at the end but I don't know whether that cost us finishing any closer. It was super though and he felt great.
4th Consensus Alysha Collett
It was a fantastic run. She was a little keen for her first run back over 2000m when they took the speed out of the race. She was brave and still fought back late when she was tired. It was a good effort.
5th Saint Emilion Mathew Cameron
It wasn't a bad run, we had a nice soft lead and the winner has come off our back, he kicked well but it wasn't quite as good as it was at Hastings, but with the travelling that is understandable.
6th Promise To Reign Danielle Johnson
She went a super race today. She kept finding the line. I think once she gets over a bit more ground she will be better especially considering this was only her third run back.
7th Smedley Mark Du Plessis
The track was just too fast for him.
8th Wait A Sec Jonathan Parkes
It is very hard to make up ground today. The last 100m he got going but I think he is going to the paddock now and will be back for a crack at the Auckland Cup.
9th Big Dreamer Lynsey Satherley
She wasn't suited under WFA conditions today but she will be better off in the Counties Cup back in a handicap.
10th Pacorus Viktoria Gatu
It was a good run but the track was just a bit too firm for him today.
11th Jiayugan Vinnie Colgan
It is too hard to make ground today and she will be better off in the handicaps.
Last Nymph Monte Rosie Myers
The wide draw cost us getting a nice spot. He got home okay but I think he is going to the paddock now.
