Pakuranga Hunt Day
COVID-19 Update
Date change to Sunday 19 September 2021
Due to Auckland's current alert level, Pakuranga Hunt Day will not be able to take place at Ellerslie Racecourse. The raceday will now be held at Te Aroha Racecourse. The raceday will be held behind closed doors.
We will continue to update this page as more information comes to hand.
Ticket purchasers for this day will be contacted directly.
Of all the traditional hunt clubs in New Zealand, Auckland's Pakuranga Hunt is one of just a few that host their very own raceday.
The highlight of the day's card is the Pakuranga Hunt Club Cup - a steeplechase race where horses & riders race over jumps.
Always hotly-contested, it's the perfect warm-up for those set to do battle in the Great Northern Steeplechase which is run here at Ellerslie a couple of weeks later.
Event Schedule*
11.15am - Gates open
12.15pm - First race
5.30pm - Last race
