One of our final salutes to the elite Group athlete for the New Zealand racing season!
The day celebrates the 147th running of the Group II $100,000 Manco Easter Handicap, recognised as one of the premier miles on the New Zealand racing calendar.
In addition to a great day's racing, we have the Crewcut Backyard Bash Cricket Final taking place oncourse - a culmination of qualifying events around the country where the winning team will take home $5,000.
With free General Admission, round up your mates and join us oncourse to cheer on your region's representative. Pack a picnic and set up camp on the Newmarket Lawn - a prime spot close to the action on the track as well as the site of the backyard cricket battle.
Families are more than welcome & we'll be putting out the swingball sets for little ones to use between races.
In addition to being able to bring your own picnic lunch (no BYO alcohol), dining options for the day include Silks, our prime racetrack viewing lounge, or the Ascot Stand which offers an amazing birdseye view of the track.
To add to that holiday weekend vibe, we have a live band oncourse between 2pm & 7pm, setting the scene for a chill day of sport and good times with friends.
If you're oncourse at 1pm, you'll also see the Easter Bunny hopping around with treats of the chocolate kind too!
