Great Northern Day
Rally the troops & join us for the Great Northern Steeplechase and Great Northern Hurdle.
Two of some of the fiercest sporting competitions in New Zealand, competitors race over distance, tackling all number of hurdles or larger brush jumps and the famous Ellerslie Hill in a fierce battle to the winning post and their place in sporting history.
There’s no such thing as body armour, roll cages or airbags where these guys come from; just nerves of steel, athleticism & a whole of lot of trust as some of the country’s bravest horses & jockeys race to sort out the pretenders from the contenders.
And aside from the heart-stopping, nail-biting, adrenaline-filled theatre, what’s in it for you as a spectator?
Not only an action-packed day at the races, but a chance to say you were part of history as the next chapters in New Zealand’s great jumps races were written.
