Reports to the Board of Directors and oversees the Chief Financial Officer and the Executive Team.

Facts & Information

  • Our financial year runs from 1st August – 31st July; this coincides with the national racing season

  • We are based on approximately 55 hectares of land in Remuera, Auckland

  • We have approximately 50 full-time employees – this number expands across many departments during busier periods when additional hands are required

  • Racing began here over 160 years ago in 1857

  • We race approximately 20 times per year

  • Our Ellerslie Event Centre is home to approximately 1,200 events each year 

  • The Ellerslie Event Centre building was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1990
